1849 Smelters's Cottage is an intriguing, partial dug out, heritage building. Smelters' Cottage retains its original windows, doors, and fittings making it the oldest un-renovated pub in Australia. It is uniquely furnished with comfortable, eclectic, period furniture. The efficient, historical design provides a comfortable atmosphere all year round. The spacious verandah is a great place to relax or dine anytime of the day. Special interest tours of the Smelters' Home are available on request. There's sure to be something to spark your interest.

  • 3BR Smelters’ Cottage $250 per night,  for up to 5 people (extra $20 per person up to 7 guests).

  • 2 BR Smelters’ Cottage $200, for up to 4 people (extra $20 per person up to  6 guests).

  • 1BR Opie’s Flat $100 per night, for 1 person (extra $20 per person up to  2 guests).

  • $300- $600 per week

  • Sleeping Arrangements: Three beautifully decorated bedrooms with period furniture and super comfortable beds. Each room with dresser, mirror, lamps and hangers. Reading or a 4th bedroom. Sofa bed in lounge. Sleeps 7.

  • Heating/Cooling: The partial dug out design of this building provides an even temperature all year round. The cottage is equipped with portable heaters, fans and air conditioners for guests to use.

  • Outdoor Spaces: Enjoy cozy nights around the chiminea, savour BBQs on the verandah dining area, or relax with scenic sunsets.

Important Notes

  • Rain Water: The cottage uses rain water. Every drop is precious. Please be mindful when running taps.

  • Pets Negotiable: Pets must be on a lead at all times.

  • Parking: Ample parking for up to 5 cars, with additional space for caravans and large vehicles.
